January Sun | Nothing Is Certain

Benjamin Franklin paraded that life is change, that nothing is certain but death and taxes.

On a physical level, our bodies change. On a microscopic level, we wake up every day with the atoms that molded us yesterday belonging to a different form. On a metaphysical level, our thoughts change along with our autopilot pathways of behaviours. Our minds shift and twist and turn and tumble from the events that happen to us in the observable universe.

Not that one can ever know how to fully observe a universe.

One day they kiss your hand while bowing down. The next, they kiss you on both cheeks, and the day after, that is you, kissing your mother and father goodbye.

If you are lucky, you’ll feel the differences between that little bit more or little bit less of yourself. Either way, “change is the only constant.”

January Sun is the second original musical by FRAGMENTS. This piece is dedicated to exploring one of the significant themes of the musical.
